for the
benefit
of both
Muslims
and
non-Muslims
alike.
It is
committed
to
providing
access
to the
largest
collection
of
Quranic
commentary,
translation
and
study.
The site provides the original texts of over
100 books of tafsir (commentary),
tajwid tutorials and hadith
collections, and other fields, pertaining to
the study of Quranic exegesis. Altafsir.com
contains a veritable wealth of material. In
addition to presenting
the standard tafsir texts of all
seven schools of jurisprudence, the site
also contains works
of various mystical, philosophical, linguistic
and theological currents. For the first time
in one place, comparative studies between
the Shafi'i, Hanafi, Maliki, Hanbali,
Ja'fari, Zaydi and
Ibadi schools can be carried out
complete with multi-screen displays and
search programs. With the use of the latest
technology, the resource allows
cross-referencing and hyperlinks on a verse
by verse and word by word basis. The site
also offers access to many of the Quranic
sciences such as Asbaabu Nuzool (
Context of Revelation ),
An-Nasikh wal Mansookh
( Abrogation in the Quran ), Ahkaam
al-Quran
(The rules of the Quran) and much more.
Altafsir.com has gone through a rigorous
validation process to ensure original
accuracy and authenticity of these texts as
written by their authors; no word has been
changed or altered. Altafsir.com also
includes high security mechanisms so that
none of these texts may be altered in the
future.
- Altafsir.com is multilingual through
uni-code, and is available in Arabic and
English interfaces. It also contains
translations of the meanings of the Holy
Quran into 20 Islamic and non-Islamic
languages.
- Altafsir.com contains for the first
time ever in the English language, a
selection of complete translations of
tafsirs commissioned especially for
the project and translated by top
international scholars. To date, there
does not exist a single, complete and
satisfactory translation of a major
tafsir into English.
- The Quran section provides an image
for every page of the Quran and the page
number which is useful when one wants to
refer back to the Mushaf.
- It also provides the recitation for
all the pages from notable Qaaris. When
reading any verse / surah, one
can access its tafsir
(commentary) by clicking on the
tafsir icon. Once the tafsir
page is opened many other search
facilities emerge. Other options in the
tafsir view include clicking on the
verse to hear its recitation or
switching back to the normal Quranic
page view.

- A virtual keyboard is another feature
available through the site, where users
can use it to type Arabic words for
search, in case their keyboards do not
contain Arabic letters.

loading time for each page is quite
fast.
