E-Content
E-content is the essence of e-learning, and a simple definition cannot give justice to this broad area. Any      e-learning platform is effectively a delivery system for content and learning resources, it is a base where all learning material is stored, managed and used. Content could be made available for the educational entities through different methods. It can be developed by institutions themselves, subcontracted to specialized content development firms, or purchased as ready-made content from international vendors.

However, as the educational enterprise builds its content database over time, it is significant that learning material is useable, relevant, cost effective, and sharable. This is made possible by ensuring that both the content and the learning platform are compliant to international industry standards such as SCORM, IMS and others, and be based on “learning objects technology”.
