Approximately 60% of Jordan’s population can be considered as youth. Concentrating on this important sector, JREDS provides a forum for youth to exchange their ideas and ways to protect the environment. Furthermore, JREDS provides capacity-building for youth to become more professional in working in the fields of environment leadership and democracy. JREDS is also working on establishing a scholarship program for youth interested in working for the environment.

Exchange of Youth and Volunteers in the Middle East & European Countries
This project aims at exchanging experiences and mixing cultures together. Cultures are brought together to raise awareness and work on development issues in the region. The program concentrates on new concepts of conservation and promotes new methods of cultural exchange.

Joint Venture Youth Environmental Camps
Youth get to learn and to have fun in the environmental camps. These camps work on both building the characters, and educating youth on conserving and taking care of our natural heritage. Camps include hands-on environmental experiences and team-building games. Youth learn how to love water, earth, air and animals.

Building the Capacity of the Youth on Leadership
JREDS is committed to youth and leadership development in Jordan as a whole and in Aqaba in specific. Workshops and interactive participatory training programs are conducted to build leadership skills for youth.

Associated Ranger Project
The Aqaba Marine Park, the Jordanian Marine Scouts and JREDS together gather a young dynamic group of environmentally-educated Jordanians who will take a direct role in preserving the biodiversity of the marine ecosystem. These scouts lead a national awareness campaign focused on school-aged children with the aim of protecting the marine environment.

Youth Camp Project
