The Minister of Education, Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed signs with Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Jurasy - Chairman of Jurasy - in the presence of Integrated Technology Group (ITG) that was represented by Mr. Walid Tahabsem – Chairman of ITG - a contract for implementing the Educational Management Information System (EduWave EMIS).
The name "Noor" was adopted by the Minister of Education for the project, which refers to the meaning of Science and Education.
“Noor” project is considered as one of the most important projects for the e-Government Program “Yesser”. This project has been fully funded by “Yesser” program. On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Abdullah thanked all parties that were involved on the adoption of this strategic national project, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and the Communications and Information Technology Commission.
From his part, Dr. Jarallah Al-Ghamdi - General supervisor of the General Department, Information Technology – clarified that the project aims to develop a centralized information system based on the latest technology for a school management systems. The system will provide an advanced and integrated IT infrastructure for more than 33 thousand schools inside/outside the country, supervised by the Ministry of Education. The system is considered as one of the biggest information systems in the region, where more than 10 million users will be served and more than 2,700 jobs vacancy will be available through this project.
“Noor” project for Education Management (EduWave EMIS) include five phases that will run for five years. The first two years focuses on the implementation, test and launch services phases, respectively, and another three years of maintenance. The project will also include the training of 63 thousand coaches who will train teachers of the ministry.
It is worth mentioning that 14 companies offered their solutions including 9 different global solutions to compete for this project. All offers were evaluated and documented by 61 different factors. The solution that got awarded was submitted by the Jurasy Group, it was the most appropriate offer in terms of technical durability, structure, required specifications and in terms of the price offered. This technical solution is based on EduWave platform that is developed by (ITG).
It is worth mentioning also that EduWave solution is implemented in all Jordanian, Bahraini schools (at Kingdom level) and New Jersey State in America, it is also implemented in several universities such as Oman, Jordan and Syria.
