An indication of the great strides that have been made in Information and Communications Technology in the Jordan, the World Summit Award (WSA) Grand Jury in Dubai recently announced that the e-Learning Platform – EduWave, fully developed by Jordanian company ‘Integrated Technology Group (ITG)’, has been selected from over 800 nominations as one of the world’s best products in the category e-learning.

The nomination process was initiated by the Information Technology Association – Jordan (int@j) who had been chosen as a member of the Expert Panel, responsible for nominating best practice e-Content examples from 191 United Nations Member States. Through an impartial evaluation committee, int@j proposed the eight best practice examples in e-content & creativity from Jordan, which were selected according to the eight WSA categories and to the selection guidelines, provided by the WSA office.

“We consider this a huge success story not only for ITG but also for Jordan“ said ITG’s president Walid Tahabsem. “It exemplifies the quality and innovation of Jordanian products and places Jordan on the Global e-learning map.” he added.

The K-12 e-Learning Platform “EduWave” is an instructional, content and learning management solution that caters for virtually every aspect of the educational cycle. It is also a scalable solution and the only such product that caters for large-scale deployments for millions of users. EduWave is platform independent, and its new edition for the Higher-Ed Market has just been released. In addition to EduWave running nationwide in Jordan’s public schools, it is currently being deployed in two school districts in the US state of New Jersey.

Integrated Technology Group (ITG) will be presenting the EduWave platform at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva 2003, in the framework of the WSA Content Villages and at the 'WSA Best Practice Showcase Event’ on December 10th, 2003.

Patrons from the private enterprise as well as heads of governments will honor the producers. The international press will be invited to the accompanying press conference in the frame of the showcase event.
