ITG Reaffirms Its Commitment to Health Awareness with a Breast Cancer Awareness Event
Amman, Jordan – October 2026 – Reflecting its deep commitment to community health awareness, Integrated Technology Group (ITG), in collaboration with MedXJordan, organized a breast cancer awareness event in conjunction with "Pink October," the global month dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
Held at the company's headquarters in Amman, the event aimed to highlight the critical importance of early detection and to provide psychological and community support to patients and survivors, creating a lasting positive health impact in the local community.
October is observed internationally each year as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a campaign that began in 1985 to raise public awareness of breast cancer, one of the most common cancers among women worldwide. Under the symbol of the "pink ribbon," the campaign drives wide-ranging international and local efforts focused on breaking the silence, dispelling misconceptions, and improving access to early screening and comprehensive medical care to fight the disease and limit its impact.
The event drew a strong turnout of ITG's female employees, who dressed in pink in full solidarity with those battling the disease. The program included a specialized discussion session led by experts from the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center, focusing on the scientific and medical aspects of the disease, the latest recommendations on regular screenings, and healthy behaviors that help improve recovery rates.
ITG's executive management affirmed the Group's commitment to social responsibility in health awareness, describing it as a fundamental pillar in supporting both the workplace and the wider community. "This is why we were keen to organize this event: to empower our female employees with essential medical knowledge and to foster a culture of support for survivors and patients. We believe that investing in people's health and awareness is the first step toward building a healthy community capable of sustainable contribution."
Representatives of the King Hussein Cancer Center commended the initiative, stating: "Confronting breast cancer is not limited to medical efforts inside hospitals; it begins with community awareness led by private-sector institutions. This collaboration with Integrated Technology Group serves as a vital platform for breaking the barrier of fear among women and spreading a culture of regular screening, which can raise recovery rates to more than 90% when the disease is detected early, while also securing psychological and financial support for patients through available charitable channels."
The event also featured a session presented by Remah Al-Rjoub, Health Educator at the Jordan Breast Cancer Program, who highlighted the role of self-care in its psychological, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions in building a balanced and effective personality. She also provided a medical overview of breast cancer and its risk factors, both fixed, such as genetics, and modifiable, such as lifestyle, emphasizing that early detection through breast self-examination, monitoring symptoms, clinical examination, and mammography is the true key to saving lives and raising recovery rates to over 90%.
In one of the event's most moving moments, a breast cancer survivor took the stage to share her journey with the disease. In an inspiring message, she urged attendees to rely solely on guidance from their specialized medical team and to avoid being distracted by the opinions of those around them. She also stressed the psychological dimension, affirming that a supportive family environment, along with patience and acceptance, makes up half the treatment in facing challenges with a positive spirit.
The survivor further illustrated the vital importance of health vigilance by sharing her personal experience of being diagnosed on two separate occasions. She described the contrast between her first diagnosis, which came at an advanced stage and made treatment considerably more difficult, and her second, which was discovered by chance during a routine annual check-up. This comparison offered attendees living, practical proof that regular screening and early detection are the true keys to saving lives and easing the path to recovery.
To strengthen the event's charitable dimension, ITG hosted the King Hussein Cancer Foundation's "Dukkan Al Khair" (Goodness Shop), which showcased a range of meaningful gifts and products, some featuring drawings and designs created by children receiving treatment at the Center. All proceeds from these sales go toward covering treatment costs for underprivileged children and adult patients.
This initiative reflects ITG's philosophy of embedding social responsibility as a consistent approach to its work, and demonstrates that collaboration between technology companies, medical platforms such as MedXJordan, and national institutions such as the King Hussein Cancer Foundation forms a cornerstone for building a more aware and united community in the face of health challenges.
