ITG Signs a New Project With Ministry of Agriculture (MOA)

Under the patronage of His Excellency Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Khaled Al-Hunaifat, a new business agreement was signed between ITG – represented by its Vice-President Mr. Ali Sadi, and the Ministry, in presence of a number of senior ministry officials along with ITG managers.

Through this agreement with ITG, the Ministry of Agriculture aims at standardizing and automating the process of managing information by the establishment of a comprehensive database, which covers all data from various sectors including: plant resources, livestock, projects, pasturelands, in addition to marketing information, municipalities, international affairs, agreements, monitoring and evaluation, through an integrated system that will be provided to the ministry by ITG.

H.E. the Minister of Agriculture, Eng. Khaled Al-Hunaifat expressed his gratitude to such collaboration, as he stated: “ the Ministry of Agriculture is one of the oldest and most prestigious ministries of Jordan, but the fact that it is not keeping pace with the technological developments has affected those who use the services it offers, whether the ones provided to farms or other stakeholders who deal with the ministry. And so, I  strongly believes that this agreement is a step forward that needs to be adhered to deliver a great impact on the sector itself and the economy, and to reflect its contributions on the local economy.”

H.E Eng. Al-Hunaifat also highlighted some of the challenges that the ministry encounters, such as lack of data warehouse for all agricultural information and data sets. Also, some departments only use very simple methods to archive information, while the other departments use papers and files for records-keeping, which creates a challenge in generating accurate reports on time.

In his turn, Mr. Sadi – ITG’s Vice-President, emphasized ITG’s support for a partnership in this regard, saying: “ the thing that distinguishes ITG is the service orientation for its clients which provides the best solutions that facilitate the work environment and reflect the royal vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II, of creating a collaboration between the public and private sectors.” Mr. Ali also praised the solutions provided by ITG, which achieve the business objectives and electronic procedures re-structure, minimize the use of papers inside the ministry, build potentials, provide staff training, improve the quality and cost, and provide easy access to reports and information at all levels, therefore, improving the transparency and provision of more governmental information.

It is worth mentioning that ITG was founded in 1989, and it is one of the leading companies in the IT sector among Jordan and many countries, marked by their high quality e-solutions services, empowering individuals and society and helping institutions increase their efficiency, productivity, and profit.

In addition, ITG has signed a number of agreements with other ministries and governmental institutions, in order to implement E-Services in their systems, including the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and the Jordan Investment Commission. These agreements are considered among many carried out by ITG, which aim at computerize information in order to make data access easier, and to ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of the work in all enterprises across the kingdom.
